What does my freight forwarder need to know about customs clearance?
This page only applies to Galaxus Switzerland partners.
Importance of the Incoterm
The contractually agreed Incoterm determines who is responsible for the import clearance in Switzerland and who bears the related costs. Inform your freight forwarder of the Incoterm agreed with Digitec Galaxus AG. The Incoterm must also be stated on the commercial invoice.
Deliveries under Incoterm “DAP customs cleared”
If the Incoterm DAP customs cleared has been agreed, the following applies:
Customs duties and Swiss import VAT are settled via CSP account of Digitec Galaxus AG.
The costs of the customs clearance service are borne by the supplier.
The following points must be strictly observed by the customs agent:
The supplier of the goods must be named as consignor on every import customs declaration.
The name must be spelled exactly the same as the commercial register name, otherwise additional effort occurs.
The order number of Galaxus (eight digits) must be listed in the category «description of goods».
Deliveries “DAP”
If the Incoterm DAP has been agreed, Digitec Galaxus AG is responsible for Swiss import customs clearance.
