6 Specification for Product Clearance

 

INTRO

For your products to be listed on Digitec Galaxus and sold in compliance with legal requirements, the relevant quality and conformity attributes must be maintained for each product. These attributes are not only important for visibility; they also ensure that we meet regulatory and legal requirements as well as the Galaxus minimum requirements.

For many products, this information is mandatory—without it, the product cannot be published online.

In this chapter, we provide you with a detailed overview of these requirements and support you in meeting both the legal requirements and the Galaxus minimum requirements.

The attributes must be submitted via the specification feed.

 

HOW TO USE THE EXCEL FILES

All of the following reports have the same structure:

  • Columns A and B: Category and product type – filter here for your assortment

  • Column H: The attribute you need/can maintain

  • Column R: Example values from our system for guidance

QUALITY REQUIREMENTS

These attributes meet our minimum quality requirements. Maintaining them increases the visibility of your products and ensures they are listed in the online shop.

Sustainability Label

Specific standard of the sustainability label

Indication of the specific certification standard of the sustainability label

The exact certification standard must be specified when importing the data:

Example 1: Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)

  • Correct Standard: FSC Recycled, FSC Mix, FSC 100%

  • Incorrect Standard: FSC

Example 2: Oeko-Tex

  • Correct Standard: Oeko-Tex Eco Passport, Oeko-Tex Made in Green, Oeko-Tex Standard 100

  • Incorrect Standard: Oeko-Tex

On the product detail page, only selected labels that have been checked for validity by the internal sustainability team are displayed on the products. To make it easier for customers to understand and filter the labels, they are assigned to so-called sustainability properties (e.g. ‘FSC Recycled’ appears in the filter as ‘Recycled materials’). New sustainability standards are checked by the Sustainability Team. The process can take some time.

Possible Values: Rainforest Alliance, V-Label, Oeko-Tex Standard 100, Blauer Engel, FSC Mix etc.

This information is used to validate the sustainability standards. Failure to provide this information may result in the sustainability labels not being displayed on the product detail page due to a lack of validation!

Certification Body

Certification body for verifying the certificates

Indication of the certification body that issued/verified the certificate

Possible Values: Control Union, CERES, Ecocert etc.

Country of Origin

Country of Origin (corresponds to Production Country/Country of Origin)

Origin (Production Country) of the delivered item or country where the majority of value creation has taken place The EU Rules of Origin must be observed. If a GTIN or product has multiple countries of origin because it was manufactured in different countries (usually only the case for large manufacturers), all countries of origin must be provided. Possible values are country names or country codes: Switzerland, China, Ecuador, Thailand, US, UK

ALL PRODUCT SPECIFICATIONS

As mentioned in the previous chapters, we provide you with a report that lists all properties available in the system as well as their internal attributes. In addition to the quality and conformity attributes explained above, you will also find further attributes such as Basic and Advanced.

Basic attributes and relevant Advanced attributes are key to increasing the discoverability of products in the online shop and supporting customers in their purchase decision. However, they are not decisive for product approval.

These additional attributes are optional and can help with specific questions—for example, when creating variants.
